MR. MANUEL SERRANO
Mr. Manuel Serrano was born in 1968 in Central America. He was raised in Houston, Texas of USA. He began his Martial arts training at the age of 12 years old. In 1983 he began training under the supervision of Grand Master Yun-Yan Wang in the Northern Shoulin Kung fu and Northern Praying Mantis. His dedication, discipline, and perseverance in his training helped him receive his black belt under Grand Master Wang in 1986. As a black belt he competed in many State, Nationals and International Martial Arts Tournaments .
His success in tournaments led him to play a role in the movie “sidekick “ starring Grand Master Chuck Norris in 1993. In 1986, He began his teaching career with Grand Master Wang at Wang’s Martial Arts where he taught daily to about 100 students from ages 4 years and up. During his teaching career, He had the opportunity to train with many masters from different discipline such as Tae-Won-Do, Karate, Kali, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Ju-Jit-Su, and with the Wushu Team from China. In 1989 he opened his own martial arts school in Houston and since then he has being teaching to hundreds of children, youth and adults. His expertise in the martial arts is recognized by many great masters and competitors around the nation. In 2015, he had the opportunity to work with the Kickstart Kids organization run by Grand Master Chuck Norris at one of the Middle School. His knowledge and experience set him apart as one of the best teachers in the martial arts.
In 2016, Mr. Serrano moved to Orlando, Florida and opened KickStart Karate where he currently teaches students from the OCPS School District and the surrounding communities..
